Sanju Samson is a wicket-keeper batsman. He made his 20-20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe on 19 July 2015.

Sanju Samson also played IPL for the Rajasthan Royals team. he’s the youngest player to attain 1000 runs within the IPL.

Sanju Samson’s cricket career started for Kerala in a U-13 match in which he captained the team also. He scored a hundred on debut match in South Zone U-13 tournament, not only this, but he smashed 4 centuries in the next 5 matches. Subsequently, he was also made the captain of Kerala Under-16. He was the leading run-scorer in Vijay Merchant Trophy and also scored an excellent inning of 200 against Goa.

At the age of 15, he gets selected in Ranji Trophy and later became the youngest ever captain of a Ranji team. On November 03, 2011, he made his Ranji debut as a wicket-keeper batsman against Vidarbha and that’s how his first-class cricket career started. Sanju Samson Biography

After some incredible performance at the U-16 level, he gets the chance to play for the Under-19 team as a wicketkeeper-batsman and captain too.

On February 23, 2012, he started his List-A career as a batsman against Andhra in Vijay Hazare Trophy. With 4 fours, he managed to score 41 runs in 55 balls.

Later, he was selected for the U-19 Asia Cup (2012) because of his splendid game in the Cooch Behar Trophy. But this time, something went wrong as he could only score 14 runs in 3 matches.

In August 2014, Sanju was selected as a backup wicket-keeper for England’s tour but didn’t get any chance to play in the series.

Later, in 2015, he was called as a replacement of Ambati Rayudu for the ODI’s against Zimbabwe but again didn’t find a place in the playing eleven. Although in the same tournament, he made his international debut in the second T20I against Zimbabwe. He scored 19 runs in the match. Samson played his second T20I match four years later against Srilanka.

Although KKR was aware of Sanju’s cricket skills, he didn’t get any chance to play in IPL 2012.

Rajasthan Royals bought him at the auction for IPL 2013. According to him, he learned a lot from Rahul Dravid, the former mentor of RR. Samson won the Best Young Player award of the IPL 2013 season.

Samson played 2 seasons of IPL for the Rajasthan Royals. Later, RR gets banned, and Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) signed him at ₹4.2 crores for IPL 2016.

He was the third leading run-scorer of Delhi in the 2017 season. He also completed 1000 runs and became the youngest player to do so in the history of IPL.

RR returned to the IPL in 2018, and the franchise bought him for ₹8 crores at the auction. He remains with the same team for 2020 IPL.
