Coronavirus lockdown: Uttar Pradesh to completely seal 15 districts till April 13:- As the Uttar Pradesh government seals 15 districts, no one will be allowed to move out and all essential services will be home delivered. Curfew passes will also be reviewed.

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to seal 15 coronavirus-hit districts in order to contain the outbreak of COVID-19. The 15 districts include: Gautam Budh Nagar (Noida), capital Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, Kanpur, Varanasi, Shamli, Bareilly, Bulandshahar, Firozabad, Maharajganj, Sitapur, Saharanpur, Basti. The districts will be under total lockdown with immediate effect. Even the supply of essential services will be done through home delivery, reports say.

The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered complete shutdown of 15 districts to check the spread of novel coronavirus. The order will come into effect from 12 am tonight and continue till April 13.

All essential services will be home delivered and no one will be allowed to move out, sources in the government have said. Curfew passes will also be reviewed, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari has said.

The 15 districts are Lucknow, Agra, Ghaziabad, Gautambudh Nagar (Noida), Kanpur, Varanasi, Shamli, Meerut, Bareilly, Bulandshahar, Firozabad, Maharajganj, Sitapur, Saharanpur and Basti.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari said the Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh will hold a review of the decision next on April 13.

Coronavirus cases have been reported from 37 districts of Uttar Pradesh with the number climbing to 326 on Wednesday. Of the total cases, 166 are linked to the Tablighi Jamaat. So far, the UP authorities have identified 1,600 people associated with the Jamaat. Of them, 1,200 have been quarantined.

Anybody who obstructs paramedical and health workers will face the law.”

People living in these 15 districts can order essentials at home by calling the helpline number 112, the Chief Secretary announced. Uttar Pradesh has so far reported326 coronavirus positive cases including 4 deaths. Noida, which is a hotspot, has so far reported 58 COVID-19 cases while Agra has 44 cases as of now. Meerut with 25 coronavirus cases is the third worst-hit Uttar Pradesh district. Total coronavirus positive cases in India has crossed 5,100 with Maharashtra being the worst-hit accounting for one-fifth of the total cases in the country.
